Bradley Davis, 40, is the Sales & Manufacturing Manager at F. Beesley, where he oversees both the sales and production of the company’s bespoke shotguns. Born and raised in Frimley, Surrey, Davis plays a central role in guiding each client through the entire build process, from the initial consultation to the moment they take their finished gun into the field.

In simple terms, his job is to manage every stage of the customer experience. Davis coordinates sales, supervises production, and ensures each client remains closely involved throughout the creation of their firearm. At F. Beesley, the client sits at the heart of the process. From gun fitting and engraving design to selecting the wood for the stock, customers are encouraged to participate in every major decision. Once the gun is complete, Davis often joins the client on the range to ensure the balance and fit are perfectly tailored to the individual.

Before moving into gunmaking, Davis had already built an impressive reputation in the shooting world. A qualified shooting instructor, he was a British, English and Welsh shooting champion and represented Team GB for 13 years. Much of his competitive career focused on Olympic Trap shooting, giving him deep practical insight into how a shotgun should perform at the highest level.

One project that stands out in his career was the creation of a particularly striking pair of bespoke guns for a close client and friend. The shotguns featured intricate engraving, gold inlays set into the woodwork, and even rubies embedded within the gold detailing. Seeing the owner regularly using and enjoying the guns, Davis says, is one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.

Balancing centuries-old craftsmanship with modern innovation is a constant focus. As technology evolves and regulations change, particularly around ammunition, innovation becomes essential. At F. Beesley, this means combining traditional craftsmanship with modern materials and techniques. The company has already produced the first fully DLC-coated shotgun and is currently exploring new developments, including a titanium-action shotgun.

Despite the technical side of the craft, Davis still appreciates the artistry that defines fine gunmaking. If he were ever stranded on a deserted island, he says the obvious choice would be an F. Beesley shotgun, both as a reliable tool and as something beautiful to admire on a quiet day.

For Davis, the goal remains simple: to help every client create their own idea of perfection. An object that performs flawlessly while also standing as a piece of functional art.
